Toshinori Yagi (八や木ぎ俊とし典のり Yagi Toshinori?), better known as All Might (オールマイト Ōru Maito?), was once the No. 1 Pro Hero and the living embodiment of the world's Symbol of Peace (平和の象徴 Heiwa no Shōchō?). Now, he serves as a teacher of Foundational Hero Studies at U.A. High School.

As the eighth holder of the legendary One For All Quirk, All Might inherited it from Nana Shimura. He later passed it on to Izuku Midoriya, his chosen successor, to carry on his legacy. After tapping into the last remnants of One For All to defeat the menacing All For One, All Might retired, marking the end of his era as the world’s greatest hero.

His chiseled features include a strong jawline, pronounced cheekbones, and bushy eyebrows. His short, blonde hair is swept back with two distinct tufts that stick up slightly on either side, often casting a shadow over his face, leaving only his piercing blue eyes visible.

Toshinori’s Golden Age hero costume is a skin-tight blue bodysuit adorned with a red "Y"-shaped symbol. A white diamond sits at the center, with white lines extending across his chest, tracing along his back and shoulders. These lines are trimmed in the same red as the symbol, which resembles wings stretching from his torso and tapering toward his back. His hips are covered by large white patches with red borders, extending down to his thighs. A gold belt with a silver buckle, featuring red eyes, fastens his suit. His forearm sleeves are gold, with white lines and blue accents around his wrists, complemented by spiked fins on his arms. His shin-length gold boots are also trimmed with white and red accents, completing the look.

After sustaining permanent damage in his battle with All For One, Toshinori’s true form reveals a drastic change. His health deteriorated, leaving him as a gaunt, angular man with long limbs, a pronounced neck, and the absence of eyebrows. His eyes' sclerae have turned black, and his wavy hair falls in two long strands framing his face. A large scar covers the left side of his chest, a remnant of his lost stomach and parts of his lungs. His body’s frailty often causes him to cough up blood when excited or surprised. Toshinori now wears baggy clothing to accommodate his diminished body mass, although after his hero career, he starts wearing clothes that fit his current form.

As a young man, Toshinori was lean but fit, with the same hairstyle as his true form. In his empowered state, his facial features were noticeably softer, and both his normal and empowered forms lacked the shadowed eyes of his later years, offering a glimpse of the youthful All Might.

During his final showdown with All For One in the Final War, Toshinori donned a high-tech armor suit dubbed "Armored All Might," which resembled his original hero costume. The suit was composed of detachable robotic pieces that covered his entire body, leaving only his mouth exposed to showcase his iconic smile. Despite the suit's durability, it was eventually destroyed in battle when his legs were crushed.

After being saved by Katsuki and Izuku, All Might’s eyes returned to their original white sclerae, a sign of his recovery. His eyebrows also became visible again in the aftermath of the battle. However, following the crushing of his legs, All Might was bound to a wheelchair, continuing to recover from his injuries.

Eight years later, All Might’s face is marked by more wrinkles, but his white sclerae and eyebrows remain. He has regained his ability to walk, signaling a new chapter in his life after the Final War.

However, once he reverts to his true form, Toshinori becomes much more reserved and solemn, avoiding attention, which starkly contrasts his vibrant hero persona. Though he remains an eternal optimist, he ensures his goals are grounded in reality. When Quirkless Izuku expressed his dream of becoming a hero, All Might encouraged him to remain realistic and suggested alternative careers that also serve others. He viewed this as a necessary lesson to avoid frustrating aspirations. In both his true and hero forms, his optimism and occasional oafishness shine through.

Since his youth, All Might’s primary goal has been to become a symbol of hope for people in dark times. With the power of One For All, he became a hero, a living legend, and an unwavering pillar of strength. All Might’s relentless drive to save as many as possible often led him to neglect his other duties, like filing paperwork—though he would humorously accept help from others, like Sir Nighteye and Naomasa Tsukauchi, to keep up with it.

After his intense battle with All For One, All Might struggled to conceal his frailty to maintain morale. Despite his declining health, he stubbornly clung to his role as the Symbol of Peace. His trademark smile, once a symbol of reassurance, began to mask his growing insecurities and fears. Still, when Izuku, despite being Quirkless, bravely tried to save Katsuki Bakugo from the Sludge Villain, All Might rediscovered his own heroic spirit, realizing that even the smallest act of defiance against injustice could spark change.

All Might's deep sense of self-sacrifice underpins his character. He constantly placed others above himself, often neglecting his own needs and private life to serve the public. Early concept designs for All Might revealed a different side to his character, with an older, more seasoned appearance. In these early drafts, All Might had a smaller role in the story, serving merely as a veteran hero who encouraged the main character to pursue his dream of becoming a hero—even without a Quirk—rather than being a recurring mentor figure. These designs were criticized by Horikoshi's editors as "lame," prompting him to reshape All Might into the more imposing, youthful figure we know today.

All Might’s real name incorporates kanji that represent "eight" (八 ya?), "tree" (木 gi?), "genius" (俊 toshi?), and "law" (典 nori?).

• After fleeing to the United States, All Might lived there until he was 23 and met David Shield at the age of 21.

• His Bronze Age costume, with a color scheme and design that didn’t quite match his heroic image, was unpopular and he wore it the least. On occasion, he would even wear the costume without the cape.

During his time as a hero, the details of All Might’s Quirk were kept a closely guarded secret, making it one of the greatest mysteries in the world. Whenever questioned about it in interviews, All Might would deftly dodge or joke about the inquiry.
